Notre-Dame church, afternoon and evening with Les Chemins du Mont, to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings and the Liberation of the town
From 5 p.m., association stand and exhibition "Vire and pilgrimages to Mont Vire over the centuries.
17 h 30. Conference visit on "Vire, a medieval city, from destruction to restoration" (free by calling 02 31 66 28 50, Tourist Office).
22 h 30. Open-air screening in front of Notre-Dame church (amphi Notre-Dame, rue Saulnerie) of Jean-Paul Rappeneau's film (1966), "Une vie de château" (with Catherine Deneuve, Philippe Noiret, Pierre Brasseur, Henri Garcin, Mary Marquet), a wartime vaudeville about life behind closed doors in a Normandy château on the eve of 6 June between an idle chatelaine, a German officer and a Resistance fighter parachuted into the region....
Events organised as part of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, with the collaboration of the Vire Tourist Office, the town of Vire-Normandie and the support of the Calvados Department as part of the 3rd edition of the "Cinema and Heritage" festival.
