Walk the paths of Saint Michael from 19 to 29 September 2009

As the capital of the kingdom of France and the largest city in Europe in the Middle Ages, many pilgrims passed through Paris on their way to Mont-Saint-Michel.

They generally took the same route from the bridge at Saint-Cloud, sharing the route taken by pilgrims from Saint-Méen in the diocese of Rennes as far as Dreux.

Crossing the whole of Normandy, this mountain route, used throughout the Middle Ages and the modern era, has been accurately reconstructed thanks to various documents from the 15th and 16th centuries.

After Dreux, it passed through Verneuil-sur-Avre, L'Aigle, Exmes, Argentan, Ecouché and Ducey. Arriving in the Bay of Mont à Bas-Courtils, there were only three more leagues along the shore to reach the sanctuary of the Archangel.

It's this route, rich in history, that we invite you to discover from 19 to 29 September.

After admiring some of Paris's exceptional heritage, we'll head for the Yvelines département, then cross over to the Eure-et-Loir.

We'll also be making a brief stopover in the Eure, before finally reaching L'Aigle in the Orne on 27 September.

From there, we look forward to seeing you on 29 September in Genêts for the traditional crossing of the bay.
