Historical lecture by Pierre Bouet

On Saturday 10 November in Villedieu-les-Poêles, we're offering you the chance to draw up a review of the research carried out over the last 15 years on the cult of and pilgrimages to Saint Michael in Europe.

This new research was devoted to the cult of Saint Michael in Europe and the three Monts dedicated to him: Mont Gargan in southern Italy, Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy and San Michele della Chiusa in Piedmont. As part of European programmes, numerous French and foreign researchers have organised a number of international colloquia, including those held at Cerisy, Ardevon and Mont Saint-Michel.

Pierre BouetHonorary President of the Office universitaire d'études normandes at the University of Caen and member of the scientific committee of the Les Chemins de saint Michel association, has been actively involved in this research for over ten years now.
