Saturday 9 September, Saint-Martin-des-Champs (near Avranches), 2.30pm - 5.30pm
The "Rencontres européennes des sites et des Chemins de Saint-Michel" (European meetings on the sites and paths of Saint-Michel) as part of the 5th edition of "Songes d'une merveille: dans les pas de saint Aubert d'Avranches" (Songs of a wonder: in the footsteps of Saint Aubert of Avranches), the Millennium of the construction of the Romanesque abbey church of Le Mont and the meeting of the members of the "Réseau Européen des Sites et des Chemins de Saint-Michel" (European network of the sites and paths of Saint-Michel).
This event will be an opportunity to discover various Michaels sites, from the oldest in the West, Monte Gargano, in Puglia, to other highly symbolic sites all over Europe, and to learn more about the hiking trails that are gradually linking them on a European scale.
Join us for an afternoon of discovery and exchange about these sites, which have a rich history stretching back more than a thousand years:
- Saint-Michel de Cuxà, Pyrénées-Orientales (late 10th century)
- Saint-Michel d'Aiguilhe, Haute-Loire (late 10th century)
- The Mont-Saint-Michel Trail,
- San Miguel de Aralar, Navarre (11th century) (see photo above)
- Sant-Miquel de Fluvia, Catalonia (11th century)
- Monte Sant'Angelo, Puglia (5th century)
See you on Saturday 9 September from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
