From 6 to 8 October 2011, the Sacra di San Michele hosted another European scientific meeting. The speakers discussed a particular aspect common to every michaelic site: the legends surrounding their foundation and history.

The idea for this symposium arose during the 2009 meetings. The representatives of the Michaels sites present had noted many similarities in the accounts of these legends...
On the occasion of these meetings, the chapel of Saint-Michel d'Aiguilhe, the Volontarii de la Sacra di San Michele and the Friends of Saint-Michel de Cuxà signed a charter committing them to working together to exchange ideas and carry out joint projects.
